Pedagogical Research

We are interested in enhancing the student's experience by providing environments that are conducive to their learning and which will equip them with skills that will enhance their employability. To support this we aim to identify appropriate physical environments (in particular technical equipment) as well as teaching methods that depart from the traditional lecture/practical scenario.

Central to the theme's current work is being a partner in the ALiC CETL where we are investigating appropriate support environments for cross-site team work (with Durham University).

The School of Computing Science has its own VLE, NESS, and the development of this to support the theme's aims is an ongoing process.
